CLUB SMOKE FREE POLICY
From July 1st 2007 the no smoking law comes into force and the whole of this building becomes a smoke free area. Therefore, the following policy applies.

  • Smoking is only allowed in the designated smoking area
  • This area is to the left of the Barrel store and is painted red (see photo below)
  • Entry & Exit to the area must be through the main front doors
  • Under no circumstances must fire exits be used to get to the designated smoking area
  • Drinks must not be taken to the smoking area
  • Members smoking will be suspended for 3 months
  • If guests smoke they will be asked to leave and the member signing them in will be disciplined
  • It is the law that we have to keep a non compliance register
  • It is up to each and every member to ensure this policy is adhered to

CLUB SMOKING POLICY
AMENDMENT (August 2007)

As we allow members to drink at the picnic table situated in the rear car park during the warm summer months only, we intend to extend this privilege by allowing members who smoke to make use of a further picnic table situated nearer the metal container.

The access to this facility will be via the lounge fire door (initial entrance to the club must be via the main front doors) and can only be used during clement weather at the stewards discretion.

This facility is not to be used during wet weather or when it is too cold for the fire door to be reasonably used without upsetting the other members in the club. Noise must be kept to a minimum as due to the proximity of our neighbours housing, any complaints from them would result in this facility being withdrawn.

We do not wish to alienate smokers but we must conform to the law. Any other helpful suggestions in writing will be welcomed by this committee.
